Operations Manager Kate Kemp is encouraging potential owners to contact the shelter.
"Obviously think about your lifestyle, how often you're home, what might best suit your lifestyle," she said.
"Give the shelter team a call, they can have a chat to you about what that might be and it might help you find your best match."
Ms Kemp said the holidays is the perfect time to adopt, with owners able to ensure their pet settles in before going back to work.
Adoption fees for the animals have been reduced for the duration of the Adoption Drive.
Adult cats can be adopted for $50.
Kittens can be adopted for $100.
Adult Dogs can be adopted for $250.
The regular adoption process and Council registration fees still apply.
