It was supposed to be Alex Hay's first year as playing coach at the Deniliquin Rovers this year.

Thanks to COVID-19 and the consequential cancellation the Picola & District League season, he has his hopes set on 2021 instead.

Hay, along with his teammates, are itching to get out on the ground again after an entire year off.

That is; except for the one practice played at the start of the year in which the Rovers came out on top.

It was Hay's first and only win as coach. He states that gives him "a 100% win rate!"

Edge FM's Georgie Hacon caught up with Hay to talk all things local footy.
