Mayor Bilkey understands some of the community's feedback "There are concerns around the safety and treatment of dogs and pups in these kind of facilities, but Murray River Council are in conjunction with the RSPCA to ensure it is done correctly."

Bilkey goes on to say that Council are unimpressed with the state governments process in updating legislation surrounding dog breeding facilities. "We as a council are upset with the State Governments lack of urgency in updating the regulations, we have very little power to regulate them."
