Regions to exit lockdown

The Victorian government announced the news today

Regional Victoria will exit lockdown tonight at 11.59pm.

The state government today announced that following advice from the chief health officer, the lockdown in the regions will end tonight.

In a statement, the government said "there have been no new coronavirus cases in regional Victorian and thousands of primary close contacts have been cleared from the regions over the last few weeks."

Private gatherings will still not be allowed in the home, however outdoor gatherings in public spaces can occur with up to 10 people.

Face masks will remain indoors and outdoors.

Food and hospitality will be permitted to reopen for up to 100 people per venue within the four-square-metre rule.

Retail will reopen, religious gatherings of up to 100 within the four-square-metre rule, and weddings and funerals can have up to 50 guests.

Community sport will also be able to return at all levels, with only the minimum number of people required for the sport to run allowed to attend.

Entertainment venues will also be able to open with up to 300 people outdoors and 100 indoors within the four-square-metre rule.
