Over $7000 worth of power tools were stolen, including saws, hammer drills, angle grinders and nail guns.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 11.30 on Saturday night and ten to seven on Monday morning.

CCTV is currently being investigated, anyone who has any information is to contact Cobram CIU.

The theft comes as three new detectives have been deployed to the Cobram unit due to the progressive rise in criminal activity.

Officer in charge, Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd stated it was great news for their policing area.

"As a result of a recent decision made by Victoria Police, I'll have three extra detectives working here at Cobram CIU, covering the Shire of Moira and the towns of Cobram, Numurkah, Nathalia, Yarrawonga, Katamatite, Tungamah.

"That'll allow us to respond to some of the criminal activity that's increased over the last 10, 15 years. It'll also allow us to become a lot more proactive in regards to responding to spikes in crime and persons of interest.

"Hopefully we'll have a new, bigger crew and we can respond accordingly."
